With all that hair and makeup, it's amazing the ferry didn't sink.
It was the 25th anniversary of this Independence Day Fire Island tradition. With feathers flying, mascara melting, and no shortage of style or attitude, dozens of Cherry Groves finest "Females" descended on The Pines and lived up to The Island's reputation for no-holds barred, on the edge outlandishness.
